Default Driver side headlight not flipping up or down.

I have a 93 Miata that is giving me some problems. Just bought it a few weeks ago and have done a few project on it already including a new head gasket..... One thing that I can't seem to get corrected is my Driver headlight not working. Passenger works completely fine. Both lights turn on. Driver side will not flip up or down. I have bought another motor and replaced that but still not working. SO, I took the driver side motor out and connected it to the passenger side and it works just fine. Can someone help me or let me know what I may be missing??

You took just the motor out, or the entire assembly? If just the motor...

I've had problems w/ the (for lack of a better term) arm w/ plastic sockets.

Are you sure the arm is connected?

Yes the arm was connected. I took just the motor out to start testing everything. Nothing happens when i turn on the lights or put the headlight button on the center console. However if i take that motor and plug it into the passenger side it does work.

Do you know how to troubleshoot wiring?

Because this is how you get to troubleshoot wiring.

Have you checked for power at the driver's side motor harness?

I haven't, other than plugging the driverside motor into the passenger to make sure it worked.

Do you have a multimeter? It sounds like you're about to be chasing a short.

If you don't have one, I like this:
Amazon.com: Power Probe III Ultimate 12 to 24 Volt Automotive Electrical Circuit Tester Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: Power Probe III Ultimate 12 to 24 Volt Automotive Electrical Circuit Tester Kit: Automotive

Worth every penny! Just don't ever use the vampire probes. That's a hack job.

Thanks everyone for the help. Found the brown wire(line back to the fuse) had been cut by the headlight bracket. Cut and repaired the wire and everything is up and working.
