Default Dual side port wastegate actuator and EBC

does anyone else have a dual side port wastegate actuator on their turbo setup and also running an EBC? I have the MKturbo setup on my 97 and it came with the dual side port wg actuator. Supposed to be 7-8psi spring but I'm only getting 6.5psi max. So I bought the diyautotune EBC that will connect to the ms3pnppro i already have in the car. I'm confused on the physical setup of both the ports on the wg to the ebc. Is a side dual port wg the same as the ones that are dual port with 1 on the top and the other on the side? Or is it a different thing?

Right now I have top port to boost source and lower port open to atmosphere. Just not sure how to run all vac lines with the ebc.

https://www.diyautotune.com/product/...-solenoid-kit/ check out this link, it has the routing of the lines at the bottom. Hopes this helps.

I saw that and thats what has me confused. If the bottom port has the line that goes straight to the boost source and the top port goes through the ebc, wouldn't the wastegate always stay closed (as in getting full boost all the time)? To me if the ebc is only connected through top port then it can only restrict the airflow to the top port right? And the top port is the one that pushes open the waste gate correct? I may just be confused but that is how I thought it worked

I took a little video. When I hook up an air compressor on the top port it pushes open the waste gate as it should. When I hook air up to the bottom port it just blows the air out of the hole that the actuator arm comes out of. Whats the point of the bottom port? It seems like it just would create a large vacuum/boost leak.

On a properly functioning actuator the bottom port would be used to hold the gate shut. This would allow you to run boost pressure somewhere around 3-4 times what your spring pressure is. Yours doesn't appear to be sealing and unless you plan to go over around 12-14 pounds of boost you won't need it and it only makes boost control trickier to tune.

Ignore the bottom port for your application. Treat it as a single port actuator.

I had a turbonetics that looked like that one, and it leaked. Complete garbage. I replaced with a turbosmart iwg75 dual port, which works fantastic. But like has been said, if you don't need more than double your wastegate pressure, don't worry about it.

My dual port MKTurbo actuator worked for like a month then started leaking boost like crazy. I switched to a single port setup. Delayed spool a bit but got rid of a massive boost leak.

If you want a proper dual port setup, grab an IWG75 actuator and a 4 port MAC valve.

Thanks for the help. I knew something wasn't right. I bought the diyautotune electronic boost controller to raise the boost. I'm just going to treat my wastegate actuator as a single port. I don't think I need to cap the bottom port or anything because no air leaks out through it when air is ran through the top port.
