Dwell Reducer board engine start bugfix
Problem: COP setup with dwell reducer board only produces marginal spark at very low values of RPM. Car won't start unless I crank it for like 10 seconds to get the oil flowing. At which point the starter motor can raise rpms just high enough to make spark. Car is fine at all other times. Car works fine with COPs and no DRB installed.
Solution: Turn off DRB when starting car.
Switch is a heavy duty [on/momentary on] toggle switch, double pole/throw. It will basically switch the two pairs of coils between the signal from the ECU and the signal altered by the DRB. It defaults to the DRB being active.
I drilled a hole and taped the plastic thing that holds the defroster switch on cars that have them. Preparing to bend and cut the parts that don't look like a defroster switch.
Everything is properly aligned and fits together very firmly. But does it fit in the dashboard?
It does! I didn't push it in all the way so it would click into place. Now to wire it and pass the wires through the firewall. Also, need to paint it black.
