Let me preface by saying that this car is NOT a track car, and has not even been used to autox. I'm not looking for a real racing seat, but alternative to the stock seats. Safety is not the issue, but comfort and appearance. I actually like the stock seats quite a lot, but mine are looking old and worn.

That said, I have been considering "race" seats for the Miata for some time. Bolster wear, fading, cig burns (from the PO) and just generally looking like 15+ year old seats. Corbeau Forza was what I was looking at. Roughly 500 a pair. I did a google search and found velour seat reupholstery, for about $275 a set. Then I tried ebay, and found whole seats for about the same price. Two complete seats.

So, are they completely crap? Will they not fit? Remember, anything equivalent to stock is good.

I also did some searching in the race prep area, and a lot of people mount the seats to the floor using fabbed brackets. This is apparently to get the noggin below the roll bar to meet the "broomstick" rule. Once again, this isn't an issue for me, so can I use stock sliders?
