What do you think the profit margin is on a part like this?

FWIW the current "name brand" door blocks on the market are a "knock-off" of the ken auto ones.

There is a difference between knock-off and competition.

Wheels that say RAVs engineering on them when made by konig are knockoffs.

2 different BBK's made by reputable vendors engineered on their own are not knockoffs.

These are not knockoffs on ebay. Nowhere does he pretend to be selling a product that is the same as garage* door blocks. He is just selling a product that does the same thing.

Profit margin is huge on these.

by that definition the tacoburritochinchilla manifold isn't a knockoff

what's "huge"? assuming you don't own a sweat shop, and actually....you know.....monetize your time like a normal business would

Isn't it an exact copy of one of Begis?

These blocks perform the same function. But its something much more simple and easy to design.

Deezums designed a set, you can find the drawings here. And you and me both know that deezums would never pay for a set of those, even just to copy.

http://sadfab.com/opensource.html#doorbushings

Also, look at the 2, they are different designs. The bolt holes are different shapes, The garagestar ones have more curved edges. The bentobox ones have a cutout in the back

I know. I'm trying to get your mind blowingly cheap penny pinching devils to realize that other people actually value their time, and a business won't stay open for too long charging $3.50 shipped for bushings they have to make from scratch.

But I don't want to go too far with this and make it sound like support some of the crazy price gouging going on in the marketplace.

there's a lot of that going on too. When MR announced the nearly $100 price hike on their shifters, and I asked why, I don't recall getting an answer.

So I won't buy one (the other reason being that half of them rattle like crazy and sound absolutely turrbile, even when tightened/locktighted)

I dont have a taco taco manifold. I agree with you.

But calling those door bushings knockoffs is bullshit.

If you look at the seller he sells one other item. Something else he makes. Does not look like a china knockoff sweatshop.

so homeboy magically started making these RIGHT after garbagequeen started advertising them everywhere?

c'mon.

maybe the term knockoff implies he bought a set and copied them, which he probably didn't. maybe it's the wrong term.

maybe SADfag should go legit and then you can tell me how hard you ball with the 1,000,000% profit margins

Google kenauto door blocks. They were out first.

Is the trackspeed manifold a knockoff of an fm1 manifold?

Is your old wrx a knockoff of a ford model-t? They both have 4 wheels. That roll.

Knockoff is the wrong word.

OP, just weld your door shut, thats what I did, rattles are totally gone.

1) if that's the case, then okay, it's a knockoff of a knockoff
2) not even close, try again
3) my wrx is a knockoff of your mr2, which is a knockoff of deezums *****
3.5) we should just weldallthethings

Also pretty sure the lady isn't involving insurance. And our dent is really easy to pop out and buff.

Without commenting on the subject matter itself, I initially read the OP's name as "Bear lube."

That is all.
