Faster than you'd want to go in a Miata.

I'm gonna check how accurate my stock speedo gear is after the swap, then think about what to do from there. I'll prolly make another thread just to ask you what you think I should do about it

Hah, had to do that. OK I'm done.

I'd do it, with a cage and helmet.

Any one run this set up?

I'm one of the aforementioned people with a 5 speed that picked up a 3.63 from Ben. While I am planning on getting a 6 speed at some point, I'm figuring that I'll try to get the most out of the 5 spd/3.63 combo at around 250 rwhp. I'll let y'all know how it works out. Regardless, I can't wait to be spinning something south of 4500 rpm on the interstate.

For a 1.6 with a Greddy... stick with a 4.1.

I have a 2000 with a GT2554... I went with a 3.9.

I want to go 72 mph in 2nd gear. That sounds awesome.

Random one.... s2000 = mazda differential.... comes with a 4.10. Isn't it useable for those wanting a 4.10?

(have a local going 4.7 and offering his to me for cheap/trade etc... )

Take a look at that page..

Honda also sourced the Mazda 7" rear for the S2000. The rear housing is different and the axles are larger so nothing is a direct interchange other than the ring and pinion gears. The Honda Torsen does have a clutch disk to preload the worm gear (the R type Torsen). If you adapt the larger S2000 halfshafts and stub shafts it is a nice upgrade.
