I'm slightly surprised that Shaikh held his tongue so well. He's a very passionate man when it comes to his products. We've had lunch a couple of times, and it really amazes me how much work and research he's put into his shocks. And truthfully, I love my FCM Bilsteins.

Of course, I've never driven on the AFCOs. They do look like a reasonably well thought-out product. Not cheap, but certainly sexy.

 

oh yeah well have had lunch with shaikh AND keith. but keith doesn't call me for engineering questions.

I'm actually pondering some bilstein revalves to bring back some smoothness to my street ride. but only if I can get a whole setup for less than the used value of some tein flex with edfc.

 

FM afco not being "the very bestest coilover evar!!!1" doesn't suprise me. just one more over-hyped and over-priced thing coming from them IMO.

 

When/if my Konis blow out, I am going to look very closely at Shaikh's upcoming double-adjustable Bilstein.

I didn't like Shaikh when I first joined that forum. He seemed a little too eager to sell his products but now with what little knowledge I've gained I'm also a little curious about trading in my Flex for some revalved Bilsteins.

 

I am considering suspension in the next 6-months depending upon what my car does with 225 r-comps. I have hd's right now, and I'm torn between tein flex / afco / 949tein / and a FCM revalve.

Right now, FCM revalve is the cheapest and the only guy with real #'s on engineering and real world experience. The $1000 advantage helps too.

 

I just saw a custom coilover setup made by Hot Bits (Australian company that emphasizes on rallye suspensions) while I was overseas last week. It featured external gas cans, monotube construction and separate adjustment for rebound and compression. The dealers' only negative comment was that the lower control arm in the front would have to be removed in order to install the coilover. Too bad I was not able to take pictures.
Also, while I was in Tokyo 2 weeks ago, I bought an instructional video at Autobacs for the miata on how to prep it for circuit driving and the suspension that they were installing in the video was an AFCO system but the rear shocks were inverted with custom mounts!! They looked different from FM's setup!! go figure.

Yes, on a miata. Removing the lower control arm would make changing the spring that much harder. The name is weird just like Fat Cat Motosrports but you'd have to get past the name. Im just trying to get over my jet lag and then I'm gonna start corresponging with the North American dealer on pricing and availability. If I dont get it from a North American dealer, I'm gonna get it from an overseas one that I know.
