removed my 80s Sony tape player for an Eclipse HU made in 1987, however it got damaged in shipping and I had no volume up button. Finally installed a new one....I think it looks pretty spiffy, you can see how I cut the outer shroud thing for a nice clean look.

 

Looks great man, i love the new heatshielding. The new stereo is definitely better then the old one. Thats for sure.

 

I need to do the same thing so bad. Mine is completely defunct. I can use ipod via the radio (cd player is completely dead, and the tape player has someones Kansas' greatest hits stuck in it), but I can't see what station i'm on, so I have to keep flipping through the radio stations till I can hear something.

 

I forgot to buy the cable before I installed it, but this HU will control my ipod

Note to self: do not smack boost guage or bezel will dent and reading will be off.

 

bezel will dent, nothing to do with the reading.

 

never seen an autometer boost gauge that was accurate at 0.

How do you keep your interior so clean? Mine has dust everywhere, especially around the shift boot.
