Default Finally Weighed the miata!

Finally took it in to the local weigh station and my car weighs exactly 2100 lbs.

-no carpet inside
-no convertible top
-hardtop
-no ac
-no power steering
-no spare no jack
-stock 14" daisies
-act 9 lb flywheel
-and the obvious greddy turbo kit with FMIC

A buddy of mine took his C6 Corvette and got 3260 and another buddy took his B7 S4 and got 4033. :gay:

very nice. If I can keep my N/A 97 around 22-2300 with interior (93 dash),PS/AC and a few other bits removed I'll be happy.

My 93 with leather, power everything, ABS ... pretty much every option except A/C. Couple of amps in the trunk, and a Hardcore DD roll bar ... wieghed in at 2230.

Do we know what the hard-top wieghs vs. the soft-top? If it's the same, then that's pretty much how mine is setup but I've got a rollbar and 15" Heliums which I can't imagine weigh anymore than stock 14's... call mine 2150lbs which is what I tell everybody.

Soft-top and hardtop are pretty much dead nuts even, mabye 5lbs either way. My car has no PS/AC/CC, no softtop, gutted trunk, fiberglass race seats, and a hardtop and a rollbar, and with a full tank of gas it's 2300lbs even.

I weighed my 97 with full interior, me in it, boss frog clearview rollbar, and a completely full tank of gas and it came to be 2505lbs. Granted, I only weigh in at 135lbs......

last official weight on mine was 2024 lbs with about a 1/4 tank of gas. since then i've removed the heavy *** exhaust, front bumper support, and some other things. still have racing seat sitting around to swap in, been very busy. My estimate is just under 2000 lbs.

The biggest weight reduction I did was removing the stock exhaust. Damn that thing is heavy.

Other than that all I have done is add weight, roll bar, Greddy kit....

Aluminum bodied shocks help a bit if you want to lose weight without functionality.

but damn, not ditching my AC!

2034# and it's still obese compared to other guys I race against.

I run the car in CSP autocross and some of the top guys have their cars down to 1900. Insane.

Although, I am still NA at the time. FI is being added over the winter and that will add some weight, but hopefully the added HP/TQ will compensate.

Seats are now Ultrashields
I am running 15x10 wheels that are only 9.7#each
soft top is gone
hard top was not on at this weight
hollow front sway bar
koni race spec shocks
1.6 was replaced with a '00 1.8
no air box
no afm
intake piping removed, filter is right below throttle body.
stereo gone
ac gone
exhaust is just head to muffler and exits toward the ground before the rear axle.
any misc unused bracket was removed.

I guess I could go on and on, but please realize that this is not a street car.

I'm sure you could get a street car down to that weight, but you will have to give up some creature comforts.

Here's a picture of my car:
