Default FM Extractor hood has been discontinued

I called today because I was searching on their site and saw that it wasn't up anymore. I thought it was a good looking hood, so I wonder why it was discontinued. Oh well.

Thought for some reason you guys would like to know.

I like the hood too... Someone should make a replica, if the market demands of course.

IIRC... The vents weren't really placed in an optimal place to extract heat anyways unfortunately.

Apparently the little air foil on the vents works wonders according to levnubbin and keith@FM.

I'll go home and stuff my nomex/kevlar banana hammock on the wastegate and see if it gets sucked out the vent.

What is the string test? I can do it.

I love the hood, it works and I think it looks great. You just have to be careful with water getting into the spark plugs. I would imagine the carbon hood didn't sell well because iirc it was like $700 + shipping. Then after paint it's over $1000, not many people have a need for a 1k plus hood.
