Default Freeze Plug Port Damage

Damaged freeze plug port on the rear of the block. Looks like 2 small nicks in the casting. So far I have tried coating a freeze plug with Permatex Indian Head Sealer and it still leaks. Of course it has to be the one you have to pull the tranny to access. Contemplating tapping and putting in a plug with sealant. Any suggestions?

You obviously didn't do any of your engine work if you think that'll work.

Hey guys I need to bore my block out for oversized pistons. Will a hole saw work?

I will have to check it out, but I think a 1" pipe tap would do the job with the existing hole. Current hole size is 30mm. Did not even consider re-drilling hole.
I have considered setting the freeze plug a little deeper and filling the entire hole with epoxy. Or drill and tap some holes around the freeze plug and add a blockoff plate. I need to check clearance between the flywheel and the block.
Stupid mistake, may become very costly.
