Yeah... this is the worst thing I've ever done. Today I was installing my new flowforce injectors and they come with these tiny fuel filers. Long story short one of those popped out and fell directly into the injector hole on the head. So that little filter is either sitting on an intake valve or (please no) in the combustion chamber of cylinder 1.

Pull off the throttle body, and remove the spark plug from cylinder 1.
Go buy about 4 ft of clear vinyl hose from the hardware store. Get something ~1/2" so that it's big enough to grab the filter, but small enough to fit in small places.
grab a vacuum cleaner and some duct tape, and adapt the vinyl hose on to the end of the vacuum cleaner hose.
Suck away.

Make sure you have a way to check to make sure you've got it. If it's jammed in so you can't get it, you can pull the intake manifold to get at the valves easier.

Also, you can use a flexible grabber, but it will probably smoosh the filter when you grab it.

Stick some mesh screen or pantyhose or something between the join of the clear hose to the vacuum to catch the filter before you have the same issue trying to find it in the vac bag

IF you're lucky, it's stuck in the intake manifold. I made the same mistake you did but with a fuel rail spacer.

Intake manifold removal is annoying to access the nuts on the bottom, but otherwise straightforward. The gasket is stamped metal and can usually be reused.

Bore scopes are very available, your auto parts store may have one you can borrow if not its worth it if you work on cars much?

You can also pull top of intake and vacuum down the port or blow through spark plug hole.

Location would help, someone may volunteer a tool?

Damn, I got it. luckily it was sitting right on top of a valve and I was able to get it with tweezers after pulling the intake manifold. filter=rescued and clean. threw it back into the injector and installed successfully.
