Default Fuel tank wire??

So I have been having an intermittent fuel problem with my miata for a couple of months now. I replaced the pump, and then found out that that was not the problem.

the problem seems to be with the wiring inside the tank. I get power going too the tank, but the 2 wire section going to the pump inside the tank is bad.

Mazda wants 400 for a new tank assembly and I say **** that. Im going to see if i can re wire this bitch myself, but, I was wondering if there is a special grade of wire I should buy that stands up better to being submerged in fuel?

I would use some TXL/GXL wire. The insulation is gasoline resistant.
