As expected, I've gotten a good bit of **** about selling my subaru for my miata but I don't regret it one bit. It's fun to laugh and join in the fun I guess so I figure it'd be a fun thread to share some of the better jokes our friends have made about our fruity little cars.

This is more of a BS section topic, but I'll play. No one makes comments about my car, because they know I'll break their neck... no really, I just get the typical "***!" yells, and sometimes get comments about it being some other type of car. Had a girl say I must be rich driving a Viper... I would have played along if she wasn't ugly. Other than that I don't recall any personal experiences. I've seen other people talk about comments about the Miata being FWD.

 

people ask me how i fit in there, they dont know its rwd etc etc. the list goes on.

 

You ever think that when they yell *** at you it has nothing to do with the car?

 

Is that seriously a ferarri?...dumb blondes believe anything your friends tell them.

 

Someone asked me if mine was a Porsche, most people think it's fwd, and one guy even after showing the engine wasn't transversely mounted he still didn't believe me so I did a burnout for him. Granted he's an idiot but still...

I've heard the "is that a Porsche?", "those are just fwd, so I don't know why people race them" type comments, along with the usual *** etc. I have had (more than once) a guy pull up beside me in a big truck / 'real man's car' and say "you look like you're having alot of fun with that thing, maybe I should look into one".

 

She knew it was a Mazda, and she knew you had a little *****, but a fat girl's gotta get play somehow. Jk.


I have NEVER gotten **** about my car besides the usual musclecar snob looking down their nose. I am going to miss smoking those guys (****).

I got the porche one twice... I got the match box car lol... Fwd a couple of times.... How do you fit in there... This girl thought my car cost like 25k lol.... One dude thought it was an rx7

I once told someone that the Miata was the most popular sports car in the world. He didn't believe me.

My boss told me that people over 6 ft. don't belong in a Miata.

 

I had a guy come up to me at Home Depot
"that's a really neat little exotic car. where is it from and how many were made?"

I just smiled.

 

Lots of "*** car" comments. The people that gave it to me the worst though were my co-workers. After taking a ride in the boosted goodness, one of them bought a miata and is now working on a turbo kit, and another is currently in the hunt for one.

one of my friends at school yesterday asked me why did i straight pipe my stupid little miata?

i told him my "straight pipes" doubled my horsepower and i would race his mustang gt any time

 

There is a guy at work that goes on and on about how great a rotary swap in a Miata would be, even though he's never had either (he did on a Pantera though).

I've discussed it with him, and see his point, but know what an ordeal the swap is for not too much gain. He still sends me CL links to every TII motor, ecu and tranny he sees come up. At least he mechanically knows what he's talking about.
