What pads and how much power are you putting down that you need bigger?

£450 worth of ceramic mintex made to order discs and matching pads that were £150 and once hot work a treat but are only designed for sprints not trackdays and the pads begin to fade and i like the look more than anything else of a big brake behind a wheel
powers gone well through the roof since i first registered if any of you read my post

There's always the wilwood conversion. If you want something that looks awesome behind your wheels it doesn't get much better than Wilwood.

Call or email Brian Goodwin at www.good-win-racing.com
I think he's one of the more knowledgeable people around about brakes.

I've always wanted to mill my own brackets and run some wilwoods. you can get used nascar wilwood calipers for mad cheap on ebay, or even 6 and 8 piston used indy car stuff moderately priced. one of these days...

Try the Carbotech XP10 front pads and the XP8 rear for street tires, and the XP12 front and XP10 rear for race rubber. I doubt even 320 whp will hurt the XP12/XP10 combo. Granted the brakes are bigger, but we run those pads at 500whp in a 3200 lb STi...

if you're at stock power, then 1.8 brakes should be more than enough. My 1.6 brakes are just fine on a local brake-heavy course with hawk hp+ and seriously doubt anyone drives that course harder than me.

In addition to the BBK, you've got to factor in the cost of tires capable of handling the brakes. No sense getting a braking system that will easily overpower the tires.

Also if you go big brake make sure they clear your rims (15 or 16" will be required).

More than likely this guy is a good candidate for a 17 inch race rim. I have heard alot of good stuff about the willwood's and I would most def talk to Goodwin racing about your options they know about tracking a miata and are one of the leading experts in the wheels tires/brakes it takes to make us whao fast and be reliable. + they are just nice people over there.
