Default Gobble/turkey sound coming from near turbo when letting off gas?

Is this compressor surge? I have an intercooler with BOV (DSM Gen 1) positioned just off the pipe on the cold side between IC and throttle body/intake mani. I notice when I'm in boost and let off just as the boost needle drops below 0 on the gauge I get this gobbling noise coming from what sounds like near the turbo. I don't have a MBC hooked up yet, just running about 7psi boost with the stock Garrett 7psi WG. I tested the BOV with a vacuum and it works, do you think it needs to be closer to the TB or is not venting fast enough the blocked boost (when letting off accel) ? Thanks!

Location is most likely not the problem, because most of us have the BOV the exact place you do. Where are you getting the vacuum source for the BOV?

Front of the manifold, right behind the TB. But I have it tee'd off with other vacuum hoses going somewhere-I'll try to get it a dedicated port maybe that will help?

That is compressor surge and if your bov is adjustable, adjust it.
