Haltech E6X
#42
Fact is that whether the Haltech will outperform the Megasquirt in a given situation is hearsay at this point because nobody has done it. And there are other factors like cost, other features and ease of use to consider. Your friend saying the Haltech is "way better" and you using a 450hp Evo as evidence of his knowledge is crappy internet bench racing. Alamo should put a leash on you before you make any other foolish and unproven assertions while representing them.
There is nothing wrong with the Haltech and I'm not saying it wouldn't outperform the MS. But PROVE it first instead of just saying, "my friend said this, now spend money!"

I did say that we could do a comparision, just that someone would need to bring a MSPNP for us to use.

Alamo is as top notch as they get, and no nonsense. That shop and Norwood autocraft are probably the best shops in Texas...Tony Palo is here too, but I can't speak on his behalf.
You can use my mspnp if you like.

I am NOT against the MSPNP. I was getting it for my car up till last Friday, when I found out Haltech had done a PNP harness for the 1.6. I was buying the MSPNP TODAY (pay day) if Haltech hadn't called to let us know it was coming out.
Oh, and on a sidenote, he has already done a Haltech E6X on a 1.8T Miata, 430whp, and it was a drift car.

Yes, that is Brice's Blue Evo8. It was in a magazine a few months ago. I think it was making 460-470whp pump then, but I don't have the dyno chart. The one I posted is on a friend's website, he has a Celica GT4 with the JUN stroker kit, and is from over 3 yrs ago.
Tony is a damn good tuner. Tony, Brice, and there is a guy in Houston (don't know his name) that are the top three tuners in the state and probably top 10 in the country. Brice is the only one that gets international tuning opportunties, just cause he is really good with several different types of EMUs. That's why when he says something, I don't question or doubt it. He has been doing it for 18yrs and is one of the best in the business.
Are you gonna save the default settings on the MSPNP? Cause that would make a good starting point for a tune with it on my car, versus trying to alter yours to fit mine. I don't know when my E6XPNP is gonna be in, they said 2wks, but who knows. So maybe we can borrow the MSPNP before your engine is ready and not taking up your time for getting tuned when you are ready.

Has Brice ever messed with MS?
Are Billy and Jeff still in business further down the building?
I've been in some pretty dirty DSM's out of his shop, back when street races were cool...and dirty 4-wheel burnouts.
