Default Heat wrap vs Heat shielding

Hey all, I has a non turbo 97 miata and I'm getting some exhaust work done. So, the question is which is better?
Heat wrap or heat shield for the header? THNX.

Heat wrap will make the header corrode and disintegrate. Heat shields won't.

qft.

Heat wrap keeps heat into the header, which is primarily to keep exhaust energy in the pipes, but also keeps underhood temps down somewhat.

Heat shields protect nearby components from heat damage.
