Default How the F**k do I reinstall the top starter bolt?

Just replaced my clutch. The top start bolt was a bitch to get out, it seems impossible to reinstall it. Any tips? Can I approach it from the top?

Its possible you just have to find the right angle to attack it! I cant really help you much because the last time i bloted my starter, the motor was out of the car.

I know I can get the bolt in I just don't remember how I unscrewed it and it's hard to find the right combination of extensions, etc to torque it. The bellhousing is on and everything else is lined up.

i do loves me some harbor freight. I'm going to go back at it especially since I know I don't have to crawl under the bitch again. Sometimes you need a little moral support...or a hug

I have EGR and was still able to get it in from the top. I also had my buddy under the car who put the socket close to the bolt head and I helped to guide it onto the bolt. That made things easy too!

Removing the wheel helps. That and a few extensions and wobbles and cursewords.
