How much oil for empty A/C compressor?

How much oil for empty A/C compressor?
92 Workshop manual specs the fill for compressor oil at "same amount as drained plus 20cc" - but that doesn't work for a dry compressor. 
Anybody here installed a dry compressor with an oil fill, had it work and remember how much they added? thx-rob
