Based on the fact that the GT500 scoop is in almost the exact same place as the carbontrix scoop, and the carbontrix scoop definitely works, then I say the GT500 scoop works as well.
My personal hood https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1337564093 And, the carbontrix scoop also overlaps the hood hump a bit as well and it is a non-issue. |
I tried to take a video of the tufts this weekend, but the camera position was bad and you couldn't see the vent. After about 30 mph all the tufts along the vent holes stood up about 0.5-1" and then folded back over with some turbulence ... like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=a4KOja5rnXg The tufts behind the vent (closer to the driver) stayed against the hood and came straight back.
Seems to work as intended. I need another car/passenger or better camera setup to get a decent video. |
Props on the vid.
I'm guessing the rear part of the vent works better than the front. |

Not sure if I made it clear, but that was a video of my friend's e36 with unknown vent. I strapped my sony camcorder to my hood vent and took some video today on a closed course in Mexico. The end of the middle tuft got stuck to a piece of tape on the second video. 1080P versions on YT.

That's my car without the camcorder ziptied to the hood vent...

Ah ok, very nice indeed. I thought it might be that car from the 15x10 thread.
