If your using an aftermarket ecu this uses the same idle circuit as the miata. Easy to mount and easy to find cheap in junk yards. It's the 2 wire idle valve from older volvos.

I'm going to be putting one of these in my car as well. Been running without the idle valve for a long time now, a year I think. It is stuck open and I got sick of idling at 1300rpm. I want to implement this valve just to have a method of cold starting without having to hold my foot on the gas pedal for 30 + seconds although that has worked just fine this whole time.

mildly cold start today: 45 degrees in garage. Started fined and then idle dropped to normal with in a few seconds. The idle then increased to 1800rpm, when I got to the top of the driveway it settled down to normal. I think I need to reduce the coolant pwm slightly at this temp.

The gremlin is back again. This time it raised to 2k instead of 1.8k and would not recover. I restarted the car multiple times and it did not recover. This makes me think that it is doing what it is supposed to, but I have a setting or two that needs to be adjusted. I still have to lower the cranking duty, but I don't think this is it.

The car was cold when it first happened, then on the restarts the car was warm.
