Not sure if I will be running the 6 speed.
I did call http://rotorsport2.com/ today and the guy on the phone named Paul quoted me the following:
5 Hours of Labor @ $99 per hour
Plus another $150 parts which include gear oil, new bearings, seals and a few other things.
I have read in the forums in other areas that a ring and pinion install should be between $100 - $200 and take only 1-2 hours to install. Is this guy trying to rob me?
I called another place and they quoted me only $150 to install and that was just the labor alone. Big big difference if you ask me.
Was I supposed to use some secret type handshake when speaking to the person at Rotorsport? Do you have a name in which I can deal with directly? I would like to have a shop that is familiar with Mazda's.
Thanks!

Fair/normal price is around $300-350 for labor, assuming the person doing the labor is very experienced.

Thanks autox_axela, I knew there was another place in the bay area but could not remember it for the life of me.
I'll be giving them a call tomorrow.
Thanks again!
