Default Looking for more information on this '01 Miata

Anyone know the previous owner or any more detailed information about it? A friend of mine is semi-interested in it, but I don't think the dealer would have anymore detailed information than they've posted.

Thanks.

I think that's the factory AP1 kit for the NB's.

Since I have some replies (didn't get any yet on .net):

1. Is that a CO2 sprayer on the IC?

2. Does this look like water damage below the speaker?

3. Estimated power level? Assuming 170whp'ish.

2. yes, from feet most likely, look at all my cars right there.

3. more, probably 200-250ish depending on tune and boost level

1. no.
Elaborate?

2. yes, from feet most likely, look at all my cars right there.
I don't understand. Are you saying that a lot of Miatas have this issue?

3. more, probably 200-250ish depending on tune and boost level
Nice.

He's about 250 miles away from the car. I might try to talk him into going down that way. He's mechanically inclined enough to handle that car, just don't want to knowingly get into a headache...

That looks like an IC sprayer to me.

Anyways. The stock wood-grain interior is a ridiculous contrast to the exterior. The black wheels are a ridiculous contrast to the uber-white paint.

It's a nice car, and BlueBook says $12,490 stock if it's a Shinsen.
The turbo was around $5k new, wheels/tires over $1k, rollbar $500, it's gotta have a clutch, definitely Torsen. I'm not up on my electrnics, but a full indash Nav headunit is around $1k. I'd say it's a great deal if you can get past the hideous looks.

that's the powersteering loop

it's not a shinsen

the cosmetics are ridiculous

nav is cool, but you won't be able to see it at all with the top down

remove the ground effects (or maybe just paint them to match), get new wheels, and remove the wood grain (lots of goo-b-gone), and it would be ok.

1. looks stock, i believe it typically mounts under/on/near the radiator, tranny cooler lines or something.

2. it looks like someone has kicked there feet against the door when entering/exiting the vehicle

3. sure is, that kit has a lot of potential.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I thought it was a good deal from first looking at it. The pros seem to outweigh the cons by a mile. Maybe I can convince him to make the drive.

I almost bought this car a month ago. When you factor in the KB car value and the value of the turbo system, its break even. I think the car is gorgeous aside from the ugly body kit. I always wanted a white miata.

If I could have gotten down to Houston to buy it last time, I would have.

I'm assuming this is what he's using.

If so, $900.
