Default Loose Bolt?!?

Hi guys,

as you can see I am new here. I just picked up a 1990 1.6 NA6 and was going over the engine bay and notice this bolt was almost completely out! It is right behind the passenger motor mount. It doesn't thread in so there must be a nut on the end. Where can I grab one if these and what does it go to? I'm sure there will be more posts like this from me so watch out! Lol.

thanks in advance,
david

It’s one of the starter bolts, also holds the clutch line bracket. It’s the only nut/bolt of the three that hold on the starter. Right below it is a 17mm headed bolt that is also the only transmission bell housing bolt that is nut/bolt. The starter bolt is a m10x1.25 if I’m not mistaken. You won’t find one with the proper 14mm head at a hardware store, you’ll have to find someone parting out a miata, they’re all over the suspension.

It is customary to leave a poscat when someone helps you. This helps others know who is a trusted member of the forum, as Curly is.
