So ive been trying to pinpoint this leak ive been having, while letting the car warmup for a compression test today i got to poking around, and figured out the area its coming from.. Its dripping down the pan from the front of the engine.
So that leads me to think its one or more of three things, valve cover gasket, cam seals, or crankshaft seal.
The oil leak is major, like leaks a lot, could the valve cover gasket or cam seal leak that much? I figured if they leaked it wouldnt be TOO major, so im thinking it might be the crankshaft seal
I'm going to replace the valve cover gasket and cam seals because they are easy, and i guess ill see what happens, but is it pretty likely that its my crankshaft seal?

no to the valve cover,
cams seals are easy enough to spot, just pull the cam cover. or simply check for oil above the crank pulley.
if it's the FMS it's not a horrible job, just a pita. I did it once when it turned out to be a cam seal the popped out when i put my cams in. whoops.

probably crankshaft seal, i fucked mine up upon installing my new one cause i pushed it in too far instead of just flush, and had to rip everything off again to put in a new one.had oil all over the front of the pan and cv joints, etc
You've got one seriously fucked up miata if you have CV joints in the front...
