Thanks I really appreciate it!

Is rust something I need to look out for there? I have gotten spoiled by the LA climate.

Definitely call the guy first and chat with him. In my mind it would have to at least be worth the risk of just returning to the airport and buying another ticket back to LA. There's always that chance. After experiencing and falling in love with our Portland beer of course.

No. Rust is typically not an issue here. That car came from out of state.

Zero rust issues in the NW, until you start getting into early 80's domestic vehicles, forgotten for years in the the upper mid-west regions of Washington or something. Not here though.

And as Ed said, that rusty MSM is from South Dakota.

So I called the red one, seemed like a nice guy. Hasn't had it long, said his wife doesn't want to drive stick haha. Car is from Seattle until it was around 20k miles, he's the third owner. Apparently he has a bunch of records and such too. No flaws or anything wrong, seems like a nice car...hm. Wonder if I could get him down to 9500...

You called and didn't try to negotiate while you had him there?

Nah, just asked if he is flexible which he is. I need to see how tough it is to get there too. If I decide to go further I will call tomorrow and negotiate.

If I like it, would you be able to maybe do a test drive for me? I'll toss you some cash or beer or something in exchange haha.

Yeah I can do that. I'd be available this Friday. He's about a 40 minute drive from me. I'm ~25 minutes from down town, but he's on the north side of said town.

Send Curly in first/independently to ridiculously lowball him, then later, make your offer (minus the cost of beer/beverage-of-choice for Curly).

First one is in Arizona. Otherwise a nice car, and comparable with the one here.

Second one I posted already. Salvage title. Not sure how a car ends up with original paint and salvage title. Would be worth looking into further? Perhaps a mistake?

Third one is positively stupidly priced.

Fourth one is unbelievably nice, but not something you'd want to track. Why pay such a huge premium for low miles when a 70-90k miler would work just as well for his purposes?

Fifth one looks like it's been wrecked and fixed, and not extremely well either.

Sixth one is the same one as the third one

Seventh one is the one he already tried to buy and the seller jewed out on him.

I mean... just pulling them out of craigslist isn't super helpful, it seems.

Please explain the lexicon of "jewed out"

He went back on his word cause he's a greedy bastard. Hence he's a Jew. Only slightly politically incorrect, but this is the internet after all.

I was terrified that would happen to me with the car I bought in LA. I was sooo nervous that he would find someone else who would offer him a bit more.

Gotta move quick!

I think jewed out explains what happened fairly well. Yeah Turbofan explained it all very well, Jeff.

I hate that the first one you posted is in AZ. Why the heck are you posting it in LA then? Blah.

Currently working with Curly, may move on the one in Portland. The seller is supposed to get me more pictures today.

I hate it when people do that.

Some douche in OR/WA keeps posting up cars here in CA, multiple cars multiple times.

Hey guys, can you take a look at this picture he sent? Specifically the bottom right on the silver metal cover. It almost seems like there is some red spray paint overspray on it... Am I crazy? Asked him about it and he said the lighting was bad and to come look at it.
