Default Tapping AFM

The driver side PCV is not connected to anything right now as I removed the U shaped pipe from the GReddy kit and attached AFM+Filter directly to turbo.

Started seeing some oil coming from under the oil filler cap. Reading some of the old posts attaching this PCV side to the "charged" intake hose is a "no-no". The only option for me at this point would be to tap the AFM sensor from the top side after the sensor gate.

Has anyone done this? Any pros or cons?
Should I consider installing a catch can there? Would a catch can be helpful on just the driver side?

I already purchased a compressor 1/4 3/8 threaded fitting from HD. So I am ready to go. :-)

You can use a catch can there and that is where most people install them. It will help remove oil/blow-by from the crankcase ventilation keeping it from going through your turbo and intake. Some people do tap the AFM there and have no trouble with it.

By the way; after the long thread on piping the drivers' side of the valve cover, there is now a smaller hose going into the BOV elbow at the AFM and a line eliminating the filter in the top picture.

Done and done.

Works like a charm. No more nasty oil spills. I guess additional "suction" helps reduce the positive crank pressure.

To anyone planning on tapping the AFM - stick a rag inside before drilling. Will help you clean the shavings out a lot quicker. I spent good 15 minutes getting all the crap out of the sensor but not a single shaving was left inside!
