check out the logos at top
http://tuning.powercardtuning.com/request.asp

I don't get
*why I singularly get the credit
*why people keep bringing up products other than TimingThingy®

where on earth do I start comparing TimingThingy® with sandalones?

Yeah, things are starting to make sense now. Like why Jason is whining like we just buttfucked his daughter.

Hehe. Did I give you permission to use the TimingThingy® name and logo in a public forum?

I found another piece of the puzzle in the press release for the MP62 kit:
Moss Motors and Dobeck Performance have spent the last several years working together to create the most compact and very powerful - PowerCard Pro.
First thought- it took those guys YEARS to come up with that thing?

Second thought- turns out that Dobeck's primary business is making a ripoff of the PowerCommander, with similarly ignorant and banal claims as to why theirs is superior: http://www.dobeckperformance.com/

Check out the FAQ:
Q: Why should I buy your product instead of a Power Commander?
A: Once you get past the obvious advantage (the price), our technology has even more of them to offer.. First, the simplicity of adjustment allows anyone the ability to achieve an optimum fuel mixture setting for their motorcycle. No laptop computers are required
Ok, so it's superior because it is less adjustable?
Dobeck Performance has achieved the ability to interface against the stock multidimensional maps to give you carburetor tuning logic.
Uhm. Yeah. So we're trying to make an EFI system as fiddly and hard to tune as a carburetor. Where do I sign up?

Those two must be a match made in heaven...

I wonder if Tom's joking? Surely he's not serious. I'm stunned.

I ignored his digs and moved forward like he was seriously asking for advice.

Joe's duck analogy is ******* hilarious.

The thread is pretty enjoyable to read, I agree that the duck analogies are great. It's pretty frustrating though that you guys are obviously, specifically, talking about the TimingThingy and he keeps referring back to PC-Pro, which has nothing to do with what you are talking about beyond stating that it does allow load based fueling (which everyone is in agreement upon)....

Awhile back, I actually thought Tom was an alright guy and all that stuff. Now it seems everytime he posts, it's always about his products being great and infallable. It would seem that he has enough loyal supporters to do his forum fighting for him and that he wouldn't want to tarnish his reputation by getting in arguments himself.

And people wondered why I changed my avatar... I think I may have to stick with this theme from now on.

But yes, like yourself I'm trying very hard to steer Tom back into the subject at hand and get a direct and lucid response. His last post to me (the one ending with "Piggybacks RULE") makes me wonder if he forgot to take his medication this morning.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure that this thread qualifies as the end-all of ultimate retardation at M.net.

you think a car with that thing would show more power at 0psi than it would at .1 psi?

Not so long as the proprietary E-Cool™ system was functioning properly. We all know that Tom's system operates on the principles of magic rather than physics.

edit: I just replied again. Let's see if we can steer Tom back into a non-defensible position concerning poultry.

I gotta say joe, you have a certain finesse to your punch lines that makes me smile when I'm reading them. I've reread the thread once already just because of the duck stuff.

I haven't seen anything about this over on the FFS forum, however I did run across one gem. Honestly, this is so beautiful it almost makes me feel bad about bashing Tom: http://www.fastforwardsuperchargers....read.php?t=993

That's exactly the sort of thing I'd do to a guy like that...

Hey guys, can you tell me exact timing values to run? I don't want to go through the hassle to actually tune the car on a dyno. Tuning is for bitches and I'm cool. And my lemmings will follow me not matter what.

Nah, he doesn't bother. When I talk to him on the phone he's pretty philosophical about it. The guy's been around the block and doesn't take to heart what two or three guys on another forum have to say about him. I have never heard him make a personal attack on any one person, even in private conversation. As much fun as you guys get out of prodding him, he gets as much pleasure responding.
