miataturbo.net-like debauchery thread (about the ND or something)
I got the top replaced finally. The dealer installed the new revision of the top. It doesn't look any different on the inside to me.
I am over 4200 miles now. All I do is tons of long-distance stuff in it. I really screwed up by not getting the Club and its satellite radio...
On a good note, I found some amazing roads in the southern NM mountains!

Well, that manual Soul Red GT was really fun.
Suspension is miles better than the Club setup. Overdamped and crashy, typical Bilsteins.
Having a hard time not recommending the GT to everyone, given the niceties and minimal weight increase (~15 lbs).

Agree. Wanted a Club but none were available so I "settled" for a GT. Glad I did. Loving all the amenities with virtually no weight penalty.

I cannot believe how horribly dealerships and whoring these out. It boggles my mind. Makes no sense. It makes sense on a 3 or a CX5 or a Mazda 6, because we get a million of them. But whoring out a Miata at $2k below invoice? Makes no sense at all.
They're not nearly going for that cheap new, but Sports are, apparently, in some places.

12 000 km on and zero problems. Has been on track, has made a lot of canyon runs, and this last weekend went to a Mazda event were it took the 1st place in “Auto X” course.
Also does not use a drop off oil and the MPG is insane. I am thinking how will feel my Turbo Miata when the rebuild Is done after all this miles on the ND...
Ps: Turbo Kitten in the building!!

That's what I have been thinking. But after dealing with the **** stereo in the BRZ the last ~2 years, the BOSE would be nicer than the bottom end.
Check out post #1894. Apparently Mazda is introducing new guts for the transmission, specifically for the 2.0.
This solidifies it for me. The fixed transmission gears is what I was worried about the most after my top broke the first day I had it. I will trade in my '16 Sport in a few months for a '17 Club, because I want satellite radio, the full screen, the better stereo (the Sport radio is horrendous), the stock LSD, the Bilsteins, and the various appearance bits. The '17 Clubs also get those little lights in the side mirrors that let you know if someone is in your blind spot.
If you want a decent stereo, the Sports DO NOT have a decent one at all. I will get a Club at the end of this year/early next year to fix that.

The Club really is worth the extra $$ IMO.... but probably only if you're going to keep the stock seats and headrest speakers. The Bose system works really, really well in the Club, I was very impressed. Factor in the LSD and Mazda Connect and the $3k is a lot, but worth it for most people IMO.
Will have to look into the transmission fix.
Also, Ian, yes I know 'verts don't sell particularly well in the wintertime, but that's not typically a reason for dealerships to lose a bunch of money selling them. Most would rather keep them til spring and have a good inventory ready to go.

I am not even remotely an audiophile either. Trust me, though, the stock Sport stereo is horrendous.
I should go drive an Abarth when they finally come out. However, the fact that they were getting 10 mpg less than the ND while driving quickly is very telling. I routinely get 40+ mpg in my ND.
