At the end of the video (around 6:15) they talk about the ND. How its in partnership with Alfa Romeo and lighter than the NC. Sub 2000lbs? That would be something for a new car.

Considering he drives it maybe once a year, I'm going to let that slide.

IIRC that Miata was his brothers, or something, and he left it exactly as he received it when he past.

I was very disappointed when I heard mazda was shelving the rotary. I didnt consider the beneficial repercussions it would have for the miata, so that takes the sting out a bit. I hope the ND will impress more than the NC disappointed.

Just noticed the front end links are adjustable. I assume that means that Mazda wants to hold a closer tolerance for cross weights and plans to use the adjustable links to fine tune on the assembly line. Cool.

Some chatter on mnet is saying that it might have been just to get a swaybar on the chassis and it was what was laying around. A few keen eyes have also said that the chassis is significantly different from the one that was on display in NY.

My only notes is that solid rear discs (again), engine completely behind the electric steering rack, and adjustable front endlinks and fixed endlinks in the rear. Also no pictures of the intake side. :/

Adjustable end links cost too much on a mass market vehicle.

Default Fourth-Generation Miata to Debut via Simultaneous Global Events on Three Continents

IRVINE, Calif., July 3, 2014 -- This fall, 25 years of storied MX-5 Miata history will turn the page to unveil the beginning of its fourth chapter as the next-generation roadster will be rumor no more during simultaneous global events in Japan, Spain and the United States. Officially confirmed as a 2016 model, the all-new MX-5 coyly made an initial debut at this year's New York International Auto Show in the form of an exposed SKYACTIV-CHASSIS. MX-5 historians eagerly scribbled notes, snapped photos and speculated on what the final product would be. On September 3, 2014 speculation will shift into revelation during an exclusive event to be held in Monterey, Calif.

"We're excited to make this official, to announce that the newest member of the MX-5 Miata family will be arriving soon," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO). "Along with our colleagues around the world, we continue to celebrate the MX-5's 25th anniversary and look forward to sharing even more news in the near future."

In addition to the global unveil of the 2016 MX-5 Miata, MNAO has partnered with the enthusiast-operated event eponymously known as Miatas at Mazda Raceway, which will be held on September 5-7. The next-generation roadster will be on display along with an array of heritage, concept and motorsports MX-5s. MNAO also will lead consumer discussion sessions covering history, motorsports, R&D and design as well as coordinate one of the largest gatherings of MX-5 Miatas in North America. Registration for the annual event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit Miatas at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Can't wait to finally see this thing for real, and know what rumors are true or false.

I'm going to remain on the skeptical side and say who knows what engine they dubbed in there. It could be leftover footage from the MS3. I want to believe and everything, but the chassis showing didn't have anything like it.

Gonna stick with my man, Mark Booth, and say 2200lbs and 160hp out of the SkyActiv 2.0L. If it returns high 30s MPG, I'll be ecstatic.

No need to dub anything: Step Inside The Ugliest Little 2016 Mazda Miata Mule In The World

That doesn't mean it's going in a Miata though.

I chose to believe Mark Booth was hired to do social media control. He brings things back on topic and dispels the really dumb **** rumors (things like fwd or there being no ND at all). Maybe they have him posting some disinformation to lower expectation before launch?

200 hp turbo car please.

I am also hoping the factory tire diameter ends up being close to the NA/NB so we can all keep enjoying cheap wheels and tires.

Why not wish for a 300whp 2000lb Miata with 7spd sequential and active aero?
