miataturbo.net-like debauchery thread (about the ND or something)

What else are they going to use it in, though?
The thing with the FA20 you're talking about is, that it's not just a Subaru design. Subaru wouldn't have done that by itself. AND they're using it in other vehicles.
This continues the Miata trend of raiding the parts bin for a pedestrian motor that works just fine and lets the average person actually be able to AFFORD the thing.
To hear everyone talk, it's like they expected Mazda's take on the Alfa 4C, but with an MSRP of $25k. U srs?

I'm excited to see how well built the transmission and engine internals are. Would be nice if the engine was nice and burly from the factory.
Also how well the ECU takes new maps. That is what I love about my VW TDI ECU. Can take a lot of tuning very well without hitting limits besides needing a new MAP sensor if you put a Touareg turbo on it.
NC pinnacle of design? ******* crack is M.net smoking besides the usually "OEM or **** off" mentality.

Agreed on the rest of the post tho.

And they don't think the car looks good? Jesus people are hard to please. It is a big step up in my opinion. Sure it lost its "cuteness" but I for one don't think that is a terrible thing, especially when it comes to sales.
Let me put it this way. My Father who owns several Porsches has money in hand to pick one up he likes the look of it so much. He has never said one positive thing about Miatas(besides saying I made one of the few that looks good) and he LOVES the look of this one.

It's not just Subaru, though. Yamaha had their dirty little fingers in the heads much like all the good Toyotas in the past.
Regardless, the point was that 200hp 2.0 litres are not as common as the internet would have you believe. There's the Hondas, and there's the FA20. There really isn't anything else produced on anything remotely resembling a massive level.
There were more in the past because emissions and mpg weren't as big a concern, and if you look at the cars they came in, account for inflation, the MSRP wasn't even close to what the ND will sell for.
The ND will be cheaper than the 1989 Miata. How's that for progress?

Sounds like he forgot to take out his sandy tampon before he inserted a fresh one.
I find it hilarious that people still react this way with new model releases. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE CAR MANUFACTURE DIDN'T MAKE EVERYTHING PERFECT.
These morons obviously were never Subaru or VW owners. You get used to them not doing what you hope and just accept it for what it is. A minor improvement and face refresh to bring in new customers.
Reminds me of when the 2011 and up Jetta sedan was released. All the fanbois were horrified that VW took 5k off the price tag(cutting material quality). What they didn't pay attention to was the fact that VW sales of those models went up like 200%. Fanbois don't make car manufactures money. The general populace, who don't spend time on car forums do...you know....the majority.
