Hello,

I have been noticing a sudden decrease of oil pressure (duration < 1sec) by ~5-10psi when I suddenly lift off the throttle. After a moment the oil pressure comes back to where it was. This happens even while cruising on light throttle. When I lift off slowly I don't see the decrease.

The engine is a 01 VVT running on MS3.

Any ideas on what could be going on?

Factory oil pressure senders jump around when the engine knocks.
A sudden lift sometimes makes a noise (tranny?) that sounds like knock...

 

I don't hear any noise when I lift. I will pay more attention to the noise next time I get it out.
