the circuit opening relay IS the fuel pump relay.


with F/P and GND jumped, check to see if you have voltage on the Blue/Red wire on the fuel pump itself.

Cool, thanks I wasn't sure.
I just ordered the relay it should be here in a few days. They seemed to think it was going to be something other than the relay, but he thought this was a good place to start.

It was the fuel pump relay. I got one from Planet Miata. I installed it this afternoon, and the car immediately started right up.

Just a question to those who know where would i find the info to identify my fuel pump relay and its location on my 1990 1.6 Miata. My car i belive has just developed the same issues .

It is the yellow relay socket next to the steering column. May need to take off the metal knee plate to see it
