Quick update, rear end is back in the car, gotta sort out my axles and add fluid (redline heavy shockproof gear oil)

im again changing my handbrake master cylinder to increase line pressure. so ill need to fight to bleed the system again.

my doors are fully gutted, so im painting the insides and riging up a cable to open them.

and the big news is i have an appointment back at Synapse Motorsport to get re-tuned at the end of May. Soon to be ordered is a AEM tru-boost, My goals are to max out either the turbo or fuel system to see what this motor has. And tweak the cam gears and boost control to pick up some better torque and response.

What kind of final numbers do you think you'll get?

Well last time I made 418whp and 287 ftlbs . That was at 18psi on spring (no boost control) running C12 race gas.

This time I am doing a street tune on 93 pump gas. I would like to run min boost but with ebc, so around 18-20 psi and I'm hoping for 400whp and with some cam tweaking maybe 300 ftlbs.

For my race tune I plan to crank this motor up . C16 race gas running 26-27 psi if my GT3071R will push that. Hoping for somewhere around 460-470 whp and 330 ftlbs reving to 8200-8500

so anyone who read my axle problem thread, this is what i was talking about. The cover plate on the back was spewing grease from the seam. So my fix was some 3M scotchweld. Shouldnt leak anymore

well everything is back running and driving, its doing pretty good. I like the new gearing and the shifter is awsome. I cant wait to get back to the dyno and rework the power band and get this thing really ripping. For anyone who thinks that welded diffs are un-streetable, your wrong. There is resistance trying to back out of parking stalls and making U-turns. but for normal driving conditions its totally fine.

just curious, what are peoples opinions of diffrent dyno's and their readings? I have only tuned on a dynopack.

I need a ride on the street in this. I drive down your road daily to go work on my miata at the storage unit.

I have run on mustang & dyno dynamics. Both with results within 5-10% of each other.... and that is decent considering there was some small tuning changes between the two runs.

once i get it tuned again i will give you a ride, its scary to sit in the passenger seat though

I have had a welded diff in my car for quite some time now. I do not find it objectionable at all. I am suspicious that it is real hard on axles.

Read through the whole thing and I am curious when you made your Tstat housing what thermostat did you use, Is it a Miata one or from something else?

ctdrftna 05-20-2013 04:26 PM

its a miata t-stat

I believe somebody here said it - Drifting is a lot like figure skating (not that it's a bad thing) it's scored mostly on style. I don't think I'd bring the 'fear' factor into it.

doing it in "mexico" adds a pretty good fear factor to it
