Default general questions/advice

I'm new here and have been looking around for some info, I have found quite a bit of useful knowledge but I've got a few questions. Please forgive me if this is something that you have already awnsered somewhere, I've noticed some of you don't like to repeat yourselves, which is understandable. anyhow some small background on my car and my intentions. I've got a 1992 with no real performance mods just jr intake, jr header jr hi flow cat, and borla duals. apex springs, 1.8l stage 1 clutch and fidanza flywheel.

I'm looking at getting a begi s kit, ss dp and an ebay intercooler (someone else to do piping, im not a welder) and a mspnp. maybe 440cc injectors. keeping my jr cat and borla duals. all of course when I can get the money together. please any tips suggestions comments...

Also I have some opprotunities that have just came up to me recently, I found a 1.8l engine from a 2001 miata no coil, no exhaust manifold, no clutch flywheel. the rest seems to be there. the guy cannot produce the mileage because he bought it from a guy that used to work at a mazda dealership. hes asking $550. is this a deal or seems too good to be true? thanks for the feedback

And I have one last question about the 1.6 to 1.8 rear swap. I know I need the driveshaft, main unit and half shafts. Does it matter whether I have abs? and the guy asked me if I want shafts that bolt on or "pop in"???? Sorry for being so long winded. Thanks alot guys.

Bolt-in vs. Pop-in: I think the guy means the 1 piece or 2 piece axles. I would suggest the 2 piece that came on the 94-95 for ease of installation. But the 1 piece axles came on 96-05, so you would have a better chance of getting a longer useful life out of those axles. Sorry I'm not much help.

Don't worry about the dif yet unless you find a smokin' deal on one. The 1.6dif will hold out a long time if you treat it right. I'm going on over 20k miles at 200whp with nary a hiccup. No drifting/draggin/burnouts and put some decent fluid in it and it'll be fine.

No real need to weld up your intake pipes... plenty of ways to do it without. Have you decided how you're going to route the pipes. Begi sells their IC kit with the coolant reroute for $645. With no AC or PS, routing pipes is cake. You can do some decent work with one of the eBay universal kits as well.

Thanks for the insight. Im looking to make the same you are samnavy...200whp. on the rear issue, im working on a guy locally, I do some highway travel so Id like to cut the rpms down too but thats good that you say it will hold out a while. what do you mean by routing the pipes? I was just thinking turbo to ic to tb. (shed light on that if im wrong or dumb) what is that coolant rerout? I have ps and ac so I guess that makes it difficult. Thanks.

On the other hand. I will be trying to set a record for braking mine. I bet under a week.
