m.net thinking my ***. I'm all for doing custom **** the RIGHT way. How much you spending on this eBay kit after shipping? How much would a real HID setup cost? I haven't used eBay HID's but I am farmiliar with them. Friend put them in his civic, and they blinded everyone. They through soo much light everywhere because there is no cutoff to them. He got pulled over for them on the interstate and got a ticket, then he took them off and bought some Silverstars instead. He threw the kit in the garbage where it belonged.

I'm personally very interested in this. I have the Brainstorm lights, and anything that can be done to improve the light output of these is a bonus.
Besides, if the lights are aimed properly who the **** am I going to blind in a lowered Miata? Go-Kart?

I have the Moss low profile setup that I snagged on eBay for $150. Granted, it's not everyday a deal like that comes along, but the kit is VERY nice. Then I got one of the $80 HID kits off eBay and installed them. Seeing now is not a problem at all, as compared to stock lighting, or the BSP lights I had. Every so often I get flashed by oncoming drivers (even though the projectors are aimed low enough, I think it's just because I'm coming up over a hill or something), but it does let me know that people won't miss seeing my little *** car.
Sorry dude, I dont agree with you. Even though its hard to get others to respect you on the road, that doesnt mean you should be a dick and disrespect everyone else.

If they suck, then they suck, and I'll go a different route. But what if they do what I need them to do: Create significantly better light than stock w/o blinding traffic. It's only a $30 gamble.
If I had to have better lighting and was concerned about others and had a NA, I'd either save up for a good HID kit or buy some high performance halogens and see if I liked those. If the improvement was not enough, I'd continue to save up for a real HID conversion kit.
Yea, it's one thing to put LED's in your taillights to reduce the time for them to light, as that increases safety. That gives cars behind you more time to react when you brake. Putting an eBay special HID conversion on is hampering everyone else's safety though, which is quite inconsiderate, and illegal.

Ben, do what you want, but in my opinion that's a ricer kit. If it works, great, cool, but I would suspect the quality of the lights and housings to be poor. I would also suspect the shielding and cut-off to be poorly done, as MOST eBay HID kits lack in this area. I hope they are great, but most eBay parts that seem too good to be true usually are. Maybe this is a legitament high quality well designed HID conversion for a miata for 30 bucks, but I kinda doubt it.

I think what we have here is a failure to communicate. While all the parts did come from ebay, it's not an ebay conversion kit. The housings are your standard H4 conversion 7" lenses, and I got a separate H4 HID kit from elsewhere. The H4 kit I got is HID low and halogen hi. I wanted the 4700k color, but opted for the 6000k color because it wasn't quite as bright, 3100 lumens vs 2900 (thinking of oncoming traffic).
I chose the housings because they have those huge shields/reflectors in front of the bulb assembly. But had I seen the projectors posted by Sam, I'd have gone that route instead.

Get um, doesn't matter where you get your lenses they are all the same, i like the look of HID's buddy has 8000k, they might be a little to bright but w.e. But 6000k would be good i say go for it, how is it going to look ricey? Its light, what just becasue its blue? And hes buying the lenses off of ebay?
i get flashed by others headlights all the time with my shitty *** sylvania's. Ben is there a way that you could make a barrier at covering part of the bulb so that the light extends to a certain point, and then have another bulb without any sort of barrier that lights up the next few miles of road?
If they do then fantastic. I am just speaking about respecting other people on the road. If you want to experiment be my guest. If it works, ill follow in your footsteps.
Without projectors and a horizontal cutoff, they're going to blind anyone on the road. I know this because I do it constantly with my miata.
However I don't give a ****.

I care about 2 things when I turn my lights on, can I see *EVERYTHING* ahead of me and can the jerkoffs getting ready to pull out infront of me going to see me? Answer is always yes to number one (unless theres fog then I can't see ****, so I use the low mounted fog lights and problem sovled... They're bright as **** too) and number two is still subjective.. Two days after got my new brakes on some stupid bitch moved over infront of me going about 10mph slower than I was and claimed she didn't see me... Must've been blind.

OP: I still wish I had gone with the dual stage high/low, but frankly I don't care. Not having high beams leaves me the ability to turn my headlights into a 10million candlepower strobe light
I just picked up a set of the BSP low pros, which I will eventually attempt to convert to HID. I'll probably end up with hotspots, and most likely blind people, but to be honest I'd rather see at night. I miss my IS300 HIDs. heh.
Just do it Ben, and report back on the HIDs and where you got them (if they are good).
