EDIT: I forgot about this thread until today. I should add that I routed the wires in such a way that the motion of the headlights flipping up eventually cut through the insulation and was shorting one of the lights out, so my headlight failure was totally my fault.

I've since purchased some much more expensive bi-xenons from JRT Lighting and ran the wires under and away from all moving parts this time. The quality of the kit was noticeably better and required me to source +12V from the fuse block rather than using only the headlight wiring harness.

I also got Hella E-code housings and they made a huge improvement in the focus and cutoff of the light, I'll try to remember to take pics when I'm home for Thanksgiving.

Thread necromancy, but curious if you ever took those pictures, or if anyone else has good pictures of a HID bulb in an e-code housing.

I never did get a pic I don't think, but it worked out fine.

FWIW, I put 80W Osram "Hyper" bulbs in Hella E-code housings on my '90 and the light output is fantastic. Just as good as the E-code projector HIDs in my other cars. Given the quality of this setup there is no need for HIDs on the Miata IMHO.

BOM from Susquehanna Motorsports:
2 x HL79562 7" Round ECE H4 Headlamps w/o bulb
2 x CP64206 Bulb H4 Bulb, 12V 85/80W Hyper
