So when under my car I noticed the rear O2 sensor was taped up out of the way, obviously not installed in my exhaust. I know it's there to monitor cat life, which is something I don't have to begin with. So does this need to be there. Could be be causing any problems I'm not aware of. Can I just remove it or do I need an O2 simulator to keep from gettin a CEL.
If I do need an O2 simulator, anyone have a diagram for building one or something similar.

If you don't have the rear o2 CEL now, don't do anything.
Removing the sensor entirely will result in a CEL for heater circuit open, and should also code for rear o2 lean.
Adding a resistor across the heater leads and the simulator and or the other thing that holds the sensor halfway out of the exhaust stream are bandaids to remove a CEL. Don't fix it if it aint broke.
