Default Need To Patch a Hole In 1.8 Intake

So I am in the process of doing my 1.8 swap and bought a cheapo cold air intake to get me by before going turbo. Only my problem is that the intake is for a NB. Meaning in has a small rubber grommet inside of a hole for the factory IAT sensor. I tried to cover this up using silicone, didn't work very well. Epoxy maybe??? It is made of aluminum. I have a IAT I'm swapping in but its too small inside the hole. I plan on just drilling a hole and threading it to screw the IAT in. Any suggestions??
Thanks

If you are going to throw it away... how about a pop can, silicone and some hose clamps

Might try. I'm going legitimately going to try that seen on TV tape "Flex Tape"!!!! Which I know might be dumb, but how do you know what a hidden gem is if you don't try it?

Aluminum tape. Better for high temps, strong enough, matches the rest of the pipe.
