This may be more of a m.net topic, but what the hell..
My car is 13 years old.
The seats were pretty worn, and that made the car look really old.
Little tears around the edges, faded upholstery, you get the picture..
I found this really cool outfit where they specialize in leather car upholstery.
I talked to the guys who were absolute professionals, and they suggested artificial leather, the exact same material Mercedes is using.
They gave me some swatches, and even stitched some color combinations together using different color threads, so I could take them home and make my mind up.
I went for a subtle look. No weird colors or anything..
Long story short, I have that new car smell these days.
And, there are some pics, of course..

And, here is what the car looks like now:

Oh, and the cost?
Let's say they actually cost me less than a set of seat covers from a reputable vendor.
About $325...

Am I the only one that has never seen 3 piece miata seats before?
Kinda cool, but I like our 2 piece ones better. Look more sporty.
As for the re-upholster: that looks really good. Stitching looks spot on and you got to pick your color combo. Win win.

My previous Miata, a silver '99 I had when I was in the States had the same seats, too.

All of their work is hand made. They take the seats apart, make patterns, and stitch them by hand. (They do have sewing machines, of course.) Nothing is pre-made.
I also asked them to reinforce and bolster the sides, which they happily obliged.
