Do you feel there is adequate shock travel?

 

For VIR's track. Yes. I had it on the lowest setting with a 200lbs instructor in the car and it was ok. I didn't feel any bottoming out or lifting.

You know that the height adjustment on these are adjustable without affecting spring length right?

Now, autocross season is over so I'll have to wait for next season to see if I pickup a wheel in tight corners to monitor droop travel because you're right to point out travel, when I lift the car, the wheels don't drop too much at all. But you know, I think they are all like that.

 

Have you tried disconnecting your rear sway at all? When the time comes i wonder if that would keep you from picking up a wheel in autocross.

 

Reason I asked was that a few people mentioned the Ohlins have less droop travel than some other aftermarket kits.

 

I don't have any other coilovers to compare to but here you go.

*Measured droop travel:

Front: 2"
Rear: 1.75"

*Measurement taken first with car on the ground, from center of wheel to wheel arch. Lifted car completely off the ground and on 4 jackstands then remeasured same points again and subtracted the difference.

 

 

Looks good as hell. I want to see it next track day with the 6ULs though.

 

those shocks are awesome, wish I could throw down that kind of cash for coilovers

 

BAH!!! I can't wait to get mine! Currently have AGX's w/eibach pros. They were nice for a novice but now seen to have sagged (3 years old)so the rears are hitting bumpstops more and ride has suffered. I've driven a 91' with JIC's only and even that car was more comfy than mine. Supposed to be getting mine for Christmas.

 

Hey Virus, Dave at DDMworks said since they are Aluminum bodied shocks, they are more subceptable to damage from road debris, but are much lighter than steels bodied. Have you noticed any damage on the shocks from pebbles or rocks as of lately?

 

I haven't ridden on them too much on the street but if a track environment isn't a good test I don't know what is? They still look new.
