Ive seen the whole Gulf thing done so many times though. Id at least want to be somewhat original.

 

There's a husband and wife spec miata team in my area with 2 cars painted up like the early GT-40 shown here. Can't find a picture of thier cars but they look pretty cool in person. The light blue and orange are pretty classic GT-40 colors.

Sounds ghey but in person it works. Geez I wish I could find a pic of those cars.

 

I am not doubting that it is a popular color scheme, but i have never seen a car painted that color in person. Being the only one with a certain color scheme is not really that important to me. What is important, is just having something other than a basic color that looks good.
