Default Planning on purchasing a Turbo NB, looking for checklist

So I currently have a '00 Miata, practically stock, and looking to trade with someone for a '99 10th Anniversary NB1. It's got a GT28R powered by Voodoo Box from flying miata and tuned for 220hp and 185tq. It's got 320cc injectors and Apexi boost gauges, EGT and AVCR. It also has a stage3 clutch from exedy.

I'm looking to see what kinda things I should check out on it, since it would be my first force inducted car to purchase. I know to check the usual of a normal car. But I was also looking to check compression of it of course. The owner mentioned that P/S and A/C was not functioning. I'm thinking it's possibly the P/S pump that needs to be replaced. As for the A/C, it might be a bad compressor or the condensor was removed.

Any other tips on things to look at and check to make sure everything is okay before purchasing it? Looking forward to joining the miata turbo community soon!

Since this car has had no ignition retard, I highly recommend both a Compression and Leak Down test. I would not be surprised if you found a bad piston.

As for the A/C and PWS, both can be replaced. The PWS is easy to do if you are mechanically inclined. Parts would run about $200. The a/c is another story though.

Why not just turbo your current car? The engine are the same. Only colors and interiors are slightly different. I bet your engine is in better shape than the turbo'd one.
