Anyone know where the PRC (what is that anyway?) wires are located on a 97? I'm trying to wire the VICS solenoid so the hydra can control it, and the FM manual mentions it, but I haven't the slightest where this thing is.

Also, should the shutters be open or closed when there is no vacuum? I was working on it last week, and the shutters were closed, when i came back the next day they were open (maybe something was in the vac hose or something, i dunno).

 

Oh, and is the solenoid polar, or does it matter which one gets 12v? I need a plug to splice as well ohnoes.

 

VICS isn't on a 97 head. It is a 99+ feature.

LOL I am installing a Hydra on a 97/99 swap right now too.

The PRC valve/solenoid is in line with the FPR. No idea if it's polar ( I doubt it or the FM install manual would point it out).

 

Yeah, I have to find a place to put the solenoid, it'll be interesting. I re-arranged the fuel hoses, so it might not be where you'd expect. Anyone have a picture?
