You'll want to check his build thread for his cards, specifically. Though... the door cards thread is kinda cool in general if you don't mind sifting through some ignorant swag ****. There's some really good ones in there.

Check pages 15-17 on that build thread for the beginnings of his thuper thweet door panels. Also page 20 for aluminum speaker rings.

 

I'm planning to do some door panels like ozbrock posted at some point, but by the time I use carbon/ fiberglass/ or even vinyl you'll think the cut out area looks cool.
Frankly, I'd rather cut into a door panel than have to deal with door bars that hit my leg, esp as the car transitions from mostly street to mostly track.

The door panels can be replaced for about $30/ each. The seat takes seconds to remove. Door sill even less time. I'd never have been able to mount the race seat if I used bars that cleared the door panels.


The result is a much stiffer car (bigger change than any of my previous stiffening mods) and I'm happy with the results.

 

BTW, your a schmuck for posting this. I'd argue that bolting a door bar over carpet is retarded.

 

I didn't bolt my door bars over my carpet, they are directly bolted to the steel floor like they are supposed to be. The carpet covers up the bolt heads so it looks clean like it should, so where's your arguement?

 

Now that's what door bars should look like. But, even if you bolt to the floor, there's no reason to bend the tube unless you need to get around something.

Would a straight piece of DOM from the mounting place on the bulkhead to some other mounting place (as far forward as you care to go) interfere with something? If not then every commercially available door bar that I've seen is stupid less than optimal.

I just installed mine in my NB, chopped up the door panels and all and my VS3 (I know, I know, crappy rep seat) doesn't fit with the stock sliders.

I'm contemplating either banging out the tranny tunnel or slicing up the left leg bolster... or just buying a seat that fits.

BUT according to tech sheets, his seat's actually an inch wider at it's widest part on the leg bolster. Odd. I guess I'll try again tonight.

 

it went around the race seat. kinda want to get those away from me as best i can.
