Will it fit an ultra shield?

Thanks for the back brace suggestion. I was going to try and fab up something much like that but probably worse. I just bought a couple. Thanks also for all the help you've given in this thread! You may just save my life one day.

Hopefully so, but let's hope it's never necessary. Experiencing your safety gear in action is ... not optimal.

So I'm assuming you would bolt that Kirkey back brace onto the harness bar. Won't that interfere with the shoulder belts?

I'm also curious if the Kirkey mount would match the contour of an Ultrashield seat. I doesn't look like it would be that much different. I guess if I had to I could make something similar, but it would need to be made of steel instead of aluminum because I have limited skills/friends with skills.

We cannot comment. We have no experience with that application. if you wanted us to measure the brace we could do that...

Looks like it would bolt to the package shelf or with u-bolts to the harness bar. Harnesses could go between the u-bolts or outside of them if you did it that way.

If you use u bolts you need some way to space it off the plate. You can't wrap a harness around a bar that has a plate bolted to it.

Use a pair of these, not u-bolts.

A slightly cheaper option- You could buy two or three cheap aluminum 2 piece shaft collars and grind down one mating surface on each one to compensate for the thickness of the bracket. Drill holes in the bracket and bolt through. I think I got mine for something like $12 each.

Bolting it to the package shelf would probably put it at a better height in relation to the seat... I guess I'll add one of the Kirkey back braces to my cart when I order my NecksGen from OGRacing

You want the seat braced around shoulder level in an area where the seat is full-strength.

Oh, and don't even get me started on how the shoulder harness has been secured in this picture.
