For the resistor between the 12v and tach, would a 1K ohm 1/4 watt resistor be enough?

 

yes. only required if you are standalone.

it's easier to simple put it at IG- and B+ in the diagnostics box....i've been meaning to add that to the writeup, but im lazy.
