Default Question on parts off a junker

well theres a junked 94 in where else the junk yard the guy only want $70 for all the 1.8 brakes with rotors... thats a steal Imo but the down side is its been sitting so it has rust on the calipers and rotors, i wonder....if i just cleaned the rust and checked the pistons and seals if they'd be good,.... also the guy only wants $200 for the torsen with half shafts and drive shaft but again it has about 174xxx miles and not to thrilled about that but in your opinion would it be worth getting at least the torsen?

Yup, all you need is the brackets. Then go to napa and get some rotors. Then order the pads of your choice.

Go buy the diff for sure.

Just get the brake brackets. Leave the rusty calipers and discs there. Get rotors at napa and re-use your current calipers.

ok soo digging through the car i found it was a 96 i picked up the front brackets for only 25$ and new rotors from napa for 23 each so now i have larger front brakes it only cost a total of 100 with new shoes I didn't grab the back for some reason i thought they wouldn't fit..... i know now.....but i guess they'll still be there lol. soo for about 200 i could have 1.8 all around...so in your humble opinions how did i do? as far as the torsen im having doubts i spun the left side and the right didnt budge now im preettty sure the torsen would spin both sides no? but it might have been an open diff????..... either way thats still a lot of work with no lift/ jack it kind of is sitting on the cassis on the ground......ftl

If i was strapped for cash, i would have bought the brackets and the differential, but held off on the pads and rotors until I caught up. Your car though dude, have fun with your weaksauce 1.6 diff.

Dude, please do us all a big favor: stop typing like this because when someone is reading your post and all the sentences are jumbled together and run on it is very hard to read and understand what you are trying to say but otherwise the parts you found at the junkyard look like they are being sold for a good deal and you should definitely jump on the deal because if anything you can still sell all the stuff and make a profit unless of course you decide to keep it and in that case you will have some cool upgrades on your car for a very money spent.

I hope you get the point

Ps: you should do it
