Dear MT.net,
Is there enough coolant flowing to the oil cooler, the turbo, and the throttle body in a stock 1.8 to not necessitate a 1/8th hole in the thermostat for a heaterless reroute?
I have been looking at it, and substantially more coolant is flowing in the 1.8 than the 1.6 minus heater.

I've been looking at the water lines to the oil cooler a lot while working on the 1.8 for the swap, the amount of water it flows seems to be significantly more than just a 1/8th or 3/16ths hole in the thermostat.
Someone care to verify this theory? Just laugh their *** off at me? Bueller? Bueller?
